GDC Needle Holder Mathieu – Fine (14cm) (NHMF)
Mathiew Orthodontic Pliers are positive locking pliers intended for holding, placing, and tying ligatures and elastics. They also can be used for grasping and guiding a needle when suturing. It has short serrated jaws at the distal end to provide a better grip on the needle and it is available in a wide variety of sizes and designs. Needle Holder Mathieu is a single spring instrument with a plier handle grip that curves inward at the bottom and features a ratchet locking mechanism at the base of the handles that can be easily squeezed to be locked and unlocked.
Indications:
- Used to push the stretched interdental separator in the interdental area to make some space for the molar band
- Its a tool for laceback wire tightening in orthodontics

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Must clean after every use with warm water to remove blood, tissues, and mucus from the instruments
- Ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for all the instruments specially articulated instruments such as forceps, rongeurs, etc
- Use only standard and reputed brands of disinfectant solutions.
STERILIZATION:
- We recommend that the temperature does not exceed 120C
- Dry heat sterilization see that the temperature does not exceed 180C and there should be no long exposure as this would cause discoloration, and loss of temper, and this, in turn, would disturb the hardening of the instrument
- Do not use substandard chemicals or disinfectants as they can damage the instruments
- Avoid the use of unsuitable highly acidic chlorine-containing agents
- Use Demineralized water only
- Never rub an instrument with a metal brush at the time of cleaning.
