Ethicon Ethilon Nylon sutures are also known as polyamide sutures. Nylon sutures are monofilament sutures and are remarkably smooth, soft, and give excellent knot security.
Nylon sutures are non-absorbable sutures and possess excellent tensile strength. Nylon sutures are widely used for general closure, skin, and plastic surgery. They are usually not recommended for the attachment of artificial prostheses in cardiovascular surgery. They also do not support infection and maintain tensile strength indefinitely in tissues. Nylon sutures are available in black color.
